CAUSE

Training and supervision for our next generation of mental health professionals.

About CAUSE

CAUSE, a non-profit organization, was formed to provide comprehensive training and supervision to our next generation of mental health professionals. Partnering with other organizations and local universities, CAUSE provides supervised professional experience to practicum students and mental health associates serving children, adolescents, and their families.

Mental Health Training Program

The Mental Health Training Program began in 2011 and has helped support dozens of mental health professionals achieve licensure. The training year runs from August 1 - July 31 in accordance with the school calendar as the majority of our clients are school-based.

With successful completion of their first year, trainees can be eligible for additional training opportunities. All supervised professional experience is provided through CAUSE at no cost to the supervisee.

We emphasize the use of evidence-based behavioral health treatments to address the mental health needs of our clients. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Applied Behavior Analysis, and other Acceptance and Mindfulness-based interventions.

Goals

Trainees and associates will build competencies in interpersonal skills, clinical intervention, consultation skills/interdisciplinary collaboration, diversity and cultural awareness, laws and ethics, and professional development.
